Some of Ridgewood’s earliest residents were financiers who built summer homes in the area in the 1900s and who settled permanently when efficient public transit to New York City became available.

Today, the village is a showcase of mostly single-family homes with 4 or more bedrooms. Luxury homebuyers will be impressed by the gleaming hardwood floors, high ceilings, and stone fireplaces that give these homes a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Tudor, Colonial, and Cape Cod are the most prevalent architectural styles. Buyers can choose from a mix of new construction homes and older homes that have been updated.

Downtown Ridgewood is lined with shops, cafés, restaurants, and entertainment venues like Bow Tie Cinemas. Highlights include the old train station, a California Mission Revival-style building listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
